What are my options?

IF – your school DOES offer Agriculture as a subject (Year 8-12)

• Choose Agriculture as a subject
• Ask the school if a certificate qualification is available
• If a certificate is not available – contact the Queensland Agricultural Training Colleges (QATC)
• Contact industry organisations or friends about work experience or holiday work

IF – your school DOES NOT offer Agriculture as a subject (Year 11 & 12)

• Ask the school about school-based traineeship – Certificate II
• Ask parent/relatives about part-time trainee on family/friend’s farm
• On-farm
• Productivity Services
• Rural Sales (machinery parts, fertiliser, chemicals)
• Mechanical repairs on farm machinery
• Conservation and Landcare groups
