Chemical Accreditation
NOTE: When undertaking accreditation training, you will need your Unique Student Identifier Number (USI). This number will need to be noted on the enrolment form for whichever course you will be enrolled in and you will have to keep this number in a safe place in case you to undertake further training.
Everyone spraying chemicals must either be competent in the storage, preparation, application and transportation of chemicals or be supervised by a suitably qualified person.
This course provides the opportunity for you to undertake regulatory training to meet the standards required by the Reef Regulations. It also makes good sense to understand the most recent changes to chemical use, improvements in application methods and scheduling to ensure the best possible productivity level.
COURSE INFORMATION
This is a two-day training workshop and provides the opportunity for those who need their chemical qualification, to participate in a face-to-face, interactive workshop that meets the needs of Reef Regulations, while supporting the Smartcane BMP program. Participants will be competent in the required three (3) units of competency with all assessments being completed throughout the course. Participants will learn the process of identifying and controlling weeds, preparing and applying chemicals as well as the transporting, handling and storage of chemicals including practical advice for chemical use, improvements in application methods and scheduling to ensure the best possible productivity & best management practice.

COURSE COMPLETION
At the completion of the course, participants will be compliant with the Reef Regulations standards and competent in the required units of competency:
- AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weed and diseases
- AHCCHM304 Transport, handle and store chemicals
- AHCPMG301 Control weeds
Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment from Axiom College.
